Something to sit with this week… 🔥

One of the most important things to understand about grief is how many forms it can take — and how many of those forms we’ve never been taught to recognise or name.

We understand the obvious ones. The losses we can point to, explain, have acknowledged by others. But grief also lives in transition — in the space between what was and what’s becoming, when you’re no longer who you were but haven’t yet fully arrived in who you’re becoming. It lives in the closing of chapters that didn’t get the ending they deserved. In the things said and unsaid. In the expectations, carefully built, that quietly dissolved.

And it lives in growth itself. Every genuine transformation involves leaving something behind. The beliefs we’ve outgrown. The relationships that could no longer hold who we were becoming. The versions of ourselves that served us then but can’t come with us into what’s next.

For many consciously growing people, this particular kind of grief — the grief of becoming — is the least acknowledged and the most persistently present.

    This week’s prompt:

Is there something you’ve been carrying — a transition, an ending, a path not taken, a version of yourself that had to be left behind — that has never quite been given the space it deserved? What would it mean to acknowledge it?

Share only what feels right. Some things are worth holding privately first — and that is completely valid. 💛
