As we near the end of July… 🔥

Grief and gratitude are not opposites. They are not in competition. And one of the most liberating things about genuine grief work — the kind that actually completes — is discovering that holding both at once is not only possible, it’s the most honest way to be with an experience.

We can grieve a relationship and be genuinely grateful for what it taught us. We can mourn a version of our life and feel real appreciation for what replaced it. We can carry sadness about a loss while also recognising — not as a bypass, but as a true and separate thing — that something has grown in the space it left behind.

For consciously growing people, this both/and capacity tends to be one of the markers of genuine integration. Not the absence of grief. Not the tidy resolution of it into something positive. But the ability to hold the complexity of an experience — the loss and the gift together — without needing to collapse it into one or the other.

    This month’s final prompt:

Is there something you’ve been grieving that has also, over time, been a teacher — something that shaped you, opened something, or made space for something new that couldn’t have arrived otherwise?

Share only what feels right. Take your time. 💛
