As we near the end of June… 🔥

Self-compassion as a daily practice isn’t about achieving a state of permanent inner kindness. It isn’t about the inner critic going permanently quiet, or every self-critical thought being replaced by something warmer.

It’s about building a second voice. One that can observe the critic with some equanimity — that can hear it without being controlled by it. That can notice “there it is again” and respond from a place of genuine care rather than either submission or defensiveness.

That second voice develops slowly, through practice. Through the small, unglamorous moments of choosing a kinder response — not because you feel kind toward yourself yet, but as an act of deliberate intention even when the feeling isn’t there.

Over time, the intention becomes the feeling. The practice becomes the default.

For people in this community — who are already doing the inner work in various ways — this is often less about introducing something entirely new and more about bringing conscious intentionality to something that may already be quietly developing.

    This month’s final prompt:

Where have you noticed yourself responding to your own difficulty or imperfection with a little more compassion than you might have before — even in a small, quiet moment? And what helped that become possible?

Share only what feels right. Sometimes the most meaningful progress is the kind nobody else sees. 💛
